God Is Bigger
This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24 (KJV)
In The Midst Of Our Circumstances….
“We are all in this together…” sitting in this huge, big boat. Maybe one similar to what Noah built back in the Old Testament days. Remember the ark? But perhaps our ark bigger, to accommodate the world today.
As we hold on to some form of “hope,” we continue to live a life which is now called our new normal by having to wear masks, distancing ourselves, no more sharing, no more hugs, and the list goes on.
Months go by and many of us are in separate boats now, going through different situations and the many circumstances that we are facing begin to emerge: fear, panic, fatigue, despair, depression, illness, homelessness, loss of employment, and ample deaths occurring globally.
With much uncertainty we are still a ways away to seeing the end of the storm. Patience is required.
Reading this can truly bring someone to a place of deep despair. Thankfully it doesn’t have to end there. First, we should be so grateful that we don’t have to go through it alone. The storm may be big but we have an even bigger God who is in control of all things! Remember, no one is alone in that boat….Jesus is in that boat with each one of us (Matthew 8:23-27). God promises that we are never alone, that He is with us and will never leave us. His Word is truth!
The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Deuteronomy 31:8
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10
Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. Psalm 34:8
So many lives have been altered due to this pandemic. Even during these hard situations, there can be some good that comes out from this. If only one can look through past the dim glass one would discover and experience blessings after blessings! Perhaps even contribute and take part in big or small ways and be so grateful for what God has given each of us.
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10
People helping each other, volunteering their time, helping others with their groceries, cooking meals for neighbours, helping with food drive for our church, calling the elderly in our community and chatting with them…these are just a few of many blessings that one can witness during these given times.
And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19
I am truly grateful for what God is doing in my life and the lives of my sisters in the LORD.
I am truly grateful for “Compass Point church family.”
