Pain
Nowhere in God’s Word does the Bible say that He promises a wonderful, pain-free, healthy life here on earth or in this world.
Most of us at one time or other have experienced some form of physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual pain. Perhaps even enduring with perseverance significant excruciating pain on a day-to-day basis. Maybe you’re still having to deal with it now.
Pain in itself is not something easily welcomed in anyone’s life.
However, in some ways we learn to navigate through life coping with pain in different ways. To some perhaps it’s hiding the pain in hopes that no one will notice their suffering… until they return home to find themselves breaking down and crying themselves to sleep. Some may numb their pain with alcohol in trying to feel normal for at least a little while. Others may turn to drug addictions to escape their circumstances. There are many paths to masquerade one’s pain. These are just a few mentioned.
Sisters, if we are truly honest with ourselves we somehow can all relate no matter how big or small our pain is. However, here’s the thing… here’s what we need to remember and understand…
JESUS also endured and persevered through excruciating pain! He experienced it too! Right? What He did for all mankind…on the cross! (Matthew 27:32-56) If anyone knows what we are going through it’s JESUS.
He is the one we can truly trust and openly run to with anything that stops our growth in living to the fullest.
We can go to Him with all of our pain and He will give us rest.
If you are hurting today, be encouraged to know that we have a comforter who is right with us and always ready to fill our need. We just need to be willing vessels, and turn our hearts fully to Him …to Him who is able.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28 (NIV)
Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. Psalm 34:8
Father God, thank you for all that You are, for all that You do and for all You are still doing in my life and in the lives of all who come and sit at Your feet and find rest in You! In Jesus Name, Amen!
