What is Community?

The modern world is facing a crisis of loneliness. Many of us ache to know and be known, to love and be loved, to belong to a family. And yet, if we’re honest, we’re often hesitant to lean into life with others. We’re afraid we’ll get hurt, or rejected, or lose our sense of freedom.

In a lonely age like ours, Jesus’ invitation is more provocative than ever. When He says, “Come, follow Me,” He’s not just inviting us into a set of beliefs or personal spirituality — He’s inviting us into a community He describes as a family. Living in community isn’t easy, and it won’t just happen in our busy, disconnected world. It requires intention. It requires practice.
