How Does the Neighbourhood Food Drive Work?

This is a great way of getting your kids or youth involved.  It is great for getting to know your neighbours and empowering them to help too.  It is great for gathering a large amount of food, with just a little legwork.

Helpful Tips For Your Neighbourhood Food Drive

1. Use Google Maps to count the homes on some of the streets around you and plan a route (Note: One adult can drop off about 60 bags an hour in a neighbourhood of detached homes).  You can also choose to drop off bags at some specific friends’ houses…. even if they don’t live immediately around you.

2. Use Your Own Letter Template: If you are planning on doing a large number of homes, (e.g. 100) and do not want to write out all the letters by hand, download the letter template here,  modify and print the letter yourself (see instructions).
